How to use Bonjela Junior Gel
For adults, the elderly and children over 5 months.
Check that the cap is unbroken before first using the product.
For use in the mouth only.
Apply a little gel to the painful or sore area with either a clean finger tip or swab.
This may be repeated after 20 minutes and then every three hours.
If symptoms worsen or do not go away, see your doctor or dentist.
If you miss a dose, just apply a new dose and follow the instructions as before.
Do not exceed the stated dose. In the event of an overdose, seek medical advice

Before you use bonjela Junior gel
As with all medicines, bonjela Junior gel may not be suitable for everybody. Do not · use if you or your child are allergic to lidocaine, cetylpyridinium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6). · use if you or your child are allergic to other local anaesthetics · give to babies under 5 months of age · use if you suffer from abnormal blood pigment levels Bonjela Junior gel is not suitable for treatment of teething in children. Warnings and precautions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if: you or your child have heart or liver problems Taking other medicines bonjela junior gel should not be taken when taking medicines treating high blood pressure (propranolol), stomach conditions (cimetidine) or water-retention (diuretics). Speak to your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product with other medicines, including the following: · other local anaesthetics or similar medicines e.g. antiarrythmic drus (mexiletine). · the antibiotic erythromycin or the antifungal medicine itraconazole Important information about some of the ingredients in bonjela Junior gel. This medicine contains 242.2 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each 1g. The amount in each 1g of this medicine is equivalent to less than 7 ml beer or 3 ml of wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects. It may cause burning sensation on damaged skin. This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) in each dose, that is to say essentially ‘sodium-free’. This medicine contains fragrance with Eugenol. Eugenol may cause allergic reactions. Pregnancy and breast feeding: If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding, speak to your doctor or your pharmacist before using this medicine.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, bonjela Junior gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Stop taking this product and contact your doctor if you experience the following side effects: – bluish colouring of the skin, shortness of breath, headache, lack of energy – skin rash, itchy or irritated skin If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Ingredients
Product Ingredients of Bonjela Junior Gel
The active substances (which make the medicine work) are lidocaine hydrochloride 0.5 % w/w and cetylpyridinium chloride 0.025% w/w.
The other ingredients are ethanol (alcohol), glycerol, fragrance containing allergens (Eugenol) in banana flavour, sodium saccharin, carbomer, triethanolamine and water.
How to store
How to store Bonjela Junior Gel
Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use bonjela Junior gel after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and tube. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not store above 25°C. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or house hold waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment
