Lofnac Gel contains the active substance diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs

How to Use
How to use Lofnac Gel
Directions for use: Adults and children aged 14 and over: Use an amount the size of a one penny or two penny piece and rub gently into the skin over the affected site. Apply 3 – 4 times daily to the affected area of skin.
Do not use for more than 7 days, unless longer treatment is recommended by a doctor.
Do not exceed the stated dose. Wash hands after use (unless they are the site being treated).
Not for use on children under 14 years.
If symptoms worsen or persist for longer than 7 days, consult your doctor.

Hazards and Cautions
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. NOT TO BE TAKEN BY MOUTH.
Do not use if you are:
- allergic to, or ever had an asthma attack, wheezing, urticaria (hives) or a runny nose after taking aspirin or other NSAID pain/anti-inflammatory medicine, or if you are sensitive to diclofenac or any other ingredient of the gel.
- pregnant or breastfeeding.
- taking oral dicofenac, aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAID medicines.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using if you suffer from asthma, have ever had a stomach or duodenal ulcer, or are taking any prescribed medicine.
Do not apply to cuts, wounds, sunburned skin or other areas where the skin is abnormal, or near the eyes or nasal area.
Do not cover with a bandage or plaster.
Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist

Side Effects of Lofnac Gel
Like all medicines, Lofnac gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Some rare and very rare side effects might be serious
If you experience any of the following signs of
allergy, STOP using Lofnac gel and tell a doctor or pharmacist immediately:
Skin rash with blisters; hives (may affect between 1 and 10 in every 10,000 people).
Wheezing, shortness of breath or feeling of
tightness in the chest (asthma) (may affect less
than 1 in every 10,000 people).
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (may
affect less than 1 in every 10,000 people).
Other side effects which may occur are usually
mild, passing and harmless (if you are concerned,
tell a doctor or pharmacist).
Common side effects (may affect between 1 and
10 in every 100 people)
Skin rash, itching, reddening or smarting of the skin
Very rare side effects (may affect less than 1 in
every 10,000 people)
The skin may be more sensitive to the sun.
Possible signs are sunburn with itching, swelling
and blistering.
Some side effects have unknown frequency
(cannot be estimated from available information):
local application site irritation, peeling of the skin
and skin discolouration.

Active Ingredient: Diclofenac diethylammonium 1.16% w/w.
Also contains: Diethylamine, carbomer, macrogol cetostearyl ether, cocoyl caprylo-caprate, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, perfume, propylene glycol, purified water.
How to store
How to store Lofnac Gel
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 30°C.
Do not use Lofnac Gel after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
